Why did you start your business?
"I got into floristry after doing a workshop day with a very talented and well known florist, loved every minute and wanted a little experience so i could be hands on with my own wedding. From that I was asked to do lots of other peoples wedding flowers, and it just grew from there..."
What’s the best thing about doing the job you do?
Being able to be so creative, working and playing with flowers, colours, and textures all day doesn’t feel like work!"
What makes Mimosa flowers unique?
Unique??...maybe the tailored personal service we offer, i.e venue visits with customers, the mood pages (selection of lots of images etc) we create for our brides so they can get a feel of how it will all work together. We're also happy to create mock pieces before the big day for them to pre-approve.
How many years has Mimosa been going?
3rd year of having the shop but started with my wedding flowers about 4 years ago.
What kind of training have you had?
No fancy degree sorry! I have been to college though but most of my training has been self taught and has come from past experience.
What do you enjoy when you’re not doing weddings?
Got to be my baby girl!
What’s the number one piece of advice that you would give to couples planning their wedding?
Well think carefully about the cut backs that you may make, some may not always save that much, and can bring lots of added stress and pressure to what should be a really enjoyable day. And enjoy the day as much as possible!
